Vitamins and minerals make people's bodies work properly. This is why adding supplements to your diet are such a great idea. You know vitamins and minerals are good for you, since the body needs vitamins to stay healthy. Vitamins have to come from food because they are not assembled in the body. There are 13 essential vitamins and each one has a special role to play within the body, these vitamins helps to organize the processes and repair reproduction and digestion. The 13 essential vitamins are divided into two groups: Fat soluble; Vitamin A, D, E, and K can be stored by the body and Water soluble; vitamins B, C; except for Vitamin B 12, they cannot be stored in the body.

Breakfast cereals advertise that they're packed with vitamins and minerals; Elderly people in particular may not eat enough different kinds of food and may benefit from a vitamin supplement. Vitamins may use when the body is under stress, or for illness, or daily life. Many people uses up more vitamins when they are busy or for smoking and drinking alcohol. So if you smoke or drink heavily, you should either pay special attention to your diet or take a vitamin supplement. Also your body needs larger amounts of some minerals, such as calcium is vital for building strong bones and teeth. So it's very important to get enough calcium now to fight against bone loss later in life. Iron helps red blood cells carry oxygen to all parts of the body. Symptoms of iron-deficiency anemia include weakness and fatigue, lightheadedness, and shortness of breath. . Some minerals like chromium, copper, iodine, iron, selenium, and zinc you only need very small amounts of them each day.
